Pope Francis opened the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica, marking the start of the 2025 Jubilee Year, a time of grace and renewal. Celebrated every 25 years, Jubilee Years feature pilgrimages, Masses, Reconciliation, and indulgences, emphasizing mercy and works of charity.
As Catholics, we are called to recognize the dignity of every person, regardless of citizenship or country of origin. Bishop Rice reflects on our shared humanity, the Church’s teachings, and the need for compassion in immigration policy.

Girardeau’s Office of Youth Ministry is asking for young Catholic adults (ages 18-25), who are passionate about sharing their Catholic faith, to apply to be Totus Tuus missionaries next summer (2025).
Every year, Totus Tuus missionaries travel all over the diocese to spread the love of God with the youth they encounter. If you’re looking for fulfilling ways to spend your summer in service to Christ and His Church, please consider discerning Totus Tuus.
For questions or more info about the role of a Totus Tuus missionary, contact: Simon Elfrink at selfrink@dioscg.org or 417.866.0841.
